In the womens class, ruth gordon pretty well cleaned up both weekends at black and at garb to win the NA womens champ. in the juniors womens, my lil' sis swept both events with back to back wins. Her big bro held the same record for junior mens, and my man nick troutman recieved the silver medal. dave N, deuce and other 582 also had very strong showings.

Hey this is Nick Troutman. One of the starters of FIVEIGHTWO. Anyway i have been touring and traveling with EJ Eric Jackson all over the states. Unfortunately the water was down for this weekends event and Bus Eater is just a trashy shallow poorover. The Competition was held on Kahuna downstream from Buseater. It wasn't exactly what we'd hoped, imagine a wide surgey wave that would green out occasionally and sometimes build up and pumble anyone surfing it. We made the best of it though and awards were handed out for women's/Mens best ride, and Womans and mens best trick! There was also an award for the biggest beat down.

And the beat down award went to Brian Kirk with some nasty wah-thunks. Joel and Deuce both paddled well but not well enough for awards. Hopefully next year we'll be back on Bus Eater for another Jamstyle huckfest.. Also thanks to Ottawa Kayak School for putting on the rodeo.

I have just returned from the guage and the level is now down to 13. All play is on the middle channel, unless you want to surf minibus, but thats a big hole right now.

Buseater is finally here. It's only been in for three days and the line-ups are already starting to grow. Lots of air to be had, perfect level.

Level predictions aren't looking good. outflows at the dam far upstream are said to be significantly lower than last week. So by the end of the weekend the level should be down a foot or two, making the bus a thriving hole.

But don't worry!!! This drop in the level is just the tail end of the local winter run-off. Snow farther up in the ottawa river basin has not even bagan to melt yet so levels are expected to rise again within the next week or two.
